Pakistan Receives Second LNG Cargo from Qatar This Month

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has received its second liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from Qatar this month under a long-term LNG supply agreement.
LNG carrier **Shandong Redwood**, which departed from Qatar, berthed at the Pakistan GasPort Limited (PGPL) terminal on Wednesday morning, bringing the latest shipment.
The cargo was procured under a long-term LNG agreement, with its price linked to **13.37% of the Brent crude oil price**.
Pakistan also contacted Iran to ensure the safe passage of the LNG cargo amid ongoing concerns surrounding shipping routes in the region.
The arrival of the shipment is expected to provide some relief to the power sector, while LNG supplies through the Strait of Hormuz continue to be considered strategically important for Pakistan’s energy requirements.
The latest cargo marks Pakistan’s second LNG shipment from Qatar during the current month, highlighting the continued importance of long-term LNG arrangements to meet the country’s energy needs.
