Atrocities Against Fishermen Will Not Be Tolerated; Local People Will Be Given Priority in Employment in Dam Bunder and Sonmiani: Saira Ata

Winder (Daily Qudrat) – Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Ata, while presiding over an open court (khuli kachehri) held in the coastal area of Dam Bunder and a meeting of the Fisheries Department and Fishermen Cooperative Society, said in her address that atrocities against fishermen will not be tolerated under any circumstances. In Dam Bunder, only departments exist, but they have no breath or soul; in case of an emergency, there is not even equipment available to rescue anyone. The provincial government will take measures for the welfare and well-being of fishermen. She said that in the ongoing projects in Dam Bunder and Sonmiani, local people will be given priority, and local people will also be recruited in the Fisheries Department.

On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Lasbela Siraj Ahmed Baloch, Fisheries Department Deputy Director Shakeel Ahmed, and Assistant Director Abdul Hadi, among others, briefed Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Ata. She directed the Fisheries Department to establish a complaint cell in Dam Bunder to provide precautionary measures and awareness to fishermen so that fishermen can get timely assistance. During the open court, fishermen raised complaints regarding the shortage of drinking water in Sonmiani and Dam Bunder, teachers’ absenteeism in schools, and other issues.

On this occasion, Commissioner Saira Ata announced that the next open court will be held in Dam Bunder, in which fishermen will be kept at the forefront. Their problems will be heard and full efforts will be made to resolve them. The Commissioner Lasbela Division also assured that a letter would be written to the provincial government for compensation for the losses suffered by boat owner Qadri Hashmani Baloch in the recent boat accident.

Those present at the meeting included Assistant Commissioner Winder Saif Ali Mughal, Fishermen Cooperative Society Chairman Mir Akbar Zehri, Vice Chairman Advocate Irshad Paras Magasi, fishermen leader and former Fishermen Cooperative Society Chairman Sardar Kamran Lasi, Assistant Director Abdul Razzaq Angaria, Haji Abdul Hameed Mandhra, Muhammad Anwar Moundra, Wadera Latif Mandhra, Wadera Saleem Kakani, Wadera Yaqoob, Ashraf Iqbal Baloch, local government representatives Asif Wano Baloch, Secretary Inayatullah Rathore, Jameel Ahmed Qureshi, Faiz Muhammad Khaskheli, Ghulam Muhammad Angaria, Fahim Usman Lasi, Mushtaq Moundra, Tehsildar Winder Khudadad, Rahmatullah Rajput, journalists Mehrollah Ulfat, Sultan Angaria, Saddam Sajidi, Iqbal Hassan Angaria, Muhammad Ramzan Lasi, and others.

On this occasion, DSP Winder Circle Kanraj Muhammad Jan Sasoli, SHO Abdul Haq Musiani, Staff Commissioner Abdul Salam Gazozai, Murtaza Sheikh, and others were also present in large numbers.
