PET Scan Machines Unavailable for Cancer Diagnosis in Government Hospitals Across Balochistan, Including Quetta

Quetta: PET scan machines are not available in hospitals across Balochistan, including Quetta, and the lack of PET scan facilities is causing severe difficulties for cancer patients. According to oncologist Dr. Feroz Khan of Sina Hospital, due to the unavailability of PET scan machines in the province’s hospitals, most patients are forced to travel to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, or other major cities for a single test. He appealed to the Health Department authorities to ensure the provision of PET machines in Quetta’s central hospitals, saying that the availability of the machine would enable patients to receive treatment and help save precious lives. The PET scan is a modern and effective medical machine for cancer testing, diagnosis, and treatment, and a PET scan detects the presence of cancer cells in the body at an early stage.
Headline: Due to the unavailability of modern machinery, cancer patients are suffering severely and are forced to turn to other provinces for tests. The Health Department should abandon negligence and immediately ensure the provision of PET scan machines in central hospitals: Dr. Feroz Khan’s demand.
