National Party Using People for Political Objectives; Hollow Slogans on Border Trade Are Hypocrisy: Mina Majid Baloch
Quetta (Daily Qudrat): Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mina Majid Baloch, has said that the National Party once again attempted to use the people of Kech for its political interests, but the proud people of Kech rejected their politics and made it clear that the public can no longer be misled by hollow slogans, protest calls, and political dramas.
She said that the government is fully aware of the border trade issue. The IG FC has already clarified that steps are underway to open the Jalgi border; however, some reservations exist on the Iranian side, which authorities on both sides are trying to resolve soon through mutual contact and negotiations.
Mina Majid Baloch said that the National Party tried to politically claim this situation and gave the impression that on September 20 it would demonstrate public power to force the border open and blackmail the administration. However, people associated with the border understood this politics and did not support the call.
She said that the business community and individuals linked to the border are aware of the National Party’s political hypocrisy and know that using public issues for political purposes is an old practice of the National Party.
She said that practical progress toward opening the border is already underway. For the Jirak border, Kech’s turn lists are being issued every week, while regular meetings and contacts between the government administrations of both sides continue on the Jalgi border issue. In such a situation, bringing people onto the streets to take political credit is not a solution to the problem but open hypocrisy.
Mina Majid Baloch said that instead of misleading the public on the border issue, the National Party should also answer for its past decisions. When this party was in power, its policies and decisions regarding the border are before everyone. She said that Dr. Malik Baloch’s interview with the BBC is still available today; people should listen to it and decide for themselves who held what position on the border issue in the past.
She appealed to the people to look at practical development rather than political slogans and protests. She said that the government, district administration, and relevant institutions are working practically to resolve border issues, so the public should avoid being used for political objectives.
She said that today’s failed protest in Kech is clear evidence that the public is now fully aware of the hypocritical politics of nationalist parties and is no longer prepared to shoulder their political objectives.
