PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja Arrested

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central Secretary General and prominent lawyer Salman Akram Raja has been taken into police custody. PTI leader Shaukat Basra and Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aaeen-e-Pakistan spokesperson Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai have officially confirmed Salman Akram Raja’s arrest. According to PTI leader Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, Salman Akram Raja was arrested from the jurisdiction of Nilore police station in the federal capital Islamabad while he was returning after attending the funeral of Ijaz Satti. Salman Akram Raja had specially traveled to Kotli Sattian to attend the funeral of the deceased Ijaz Satti, and while returning from there, police stopped his vehicle in the Nilore police station area and took him into custody.

Other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders, including Shaukat Basra, have strongly condemned Salman Akram Raja’s arrest. PTI says that taking a senior politician and lawyer into custody in this manner after the discharge of a religious and moral duty like attending a funeral is the worst example of political revenge.
