Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — An important and extraordinary all-parties meeting of leaders of various political parties of Balochistan was held under the chairmanship of National Party chief and former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch at the residence of Senator Mir Kabir Muhammad Shahi, with serious and detailed consultation on important provincial matters, including the political, constitutional, economic, and law and order situation facing the province.
The meeting was attended by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, Awami National Party Balochistan Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai, Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party Provincial President Nasrullah Zirai, Balochistan National Party (Mengal)’s Musa Baloch, Hazara Democratic Party’s Abdul Khaliq Hazara, National Democratic Movement Provincial President Ahmad Jan, and other leaders and representatives of various political parties.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the continuously deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan, the difficulties faced by the people, the controversial Mines and Minerals bill, constitutional and public authority over the province’s resources, political and democratic rights, economic issues, and other important provincial matters. In the context of the current uncertain situation, consideration was also being given to determining a joint and agreed-upon future strategy through mutual consultation among all political parties.
On this occasion, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey said that Balochistan is currently passing through an extremely critical and decisive phase. Unrest and uncertainty in the province have severely affected the people’s lives, business, trade, education, employment, and daily routines. In such circumstances, it is an important need of the time for the political leadership to unite and raise its voice for Balochistan’s collective interests.
He said that the solution to Balochistan’s problems lies not in force, coercion, and mere administrative measures, but in political vision, meaningful negotiations, confidence-building, the supremacy of the Constitution, and the genuine inclusion of the people. All stakeholders must sit at one table, examine the root causes of the problems, and find workable solutions.
Maulana Abdul Wasey said that Balochistan’s resources are a trust of the people here, and in any legislation related to the province’s resources, including mines and minerals, it is inevitable to take Balochistan’s political leadership, elected representatives, tribal elders, and the people into confidence. No decision or law that affects the province’s constitutional rights, public interests, and authority over resources can be acceptable.
He said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan will continue to play its role on every forum for the protection of the people’s constitutional, political, economic, and democratic rights, and believes in resolving all matters through constitutional, parliamentary, and democratic means.
He said that today Balochistan does not need political division, confrontation, and further chaos, but rather unity, political wisdom, mutual consultation, and joint struggle. All political parties must rise above their party differences and become a united voice in the larger interest of the province.
He further said that establishing peace and order, protecting the lives and property of the people, securing the constitutional right over the province’s resources, creating employment opportunities for the youth, promoting trade and the economy, and protecting the people’s basic rights are the shared responsibility of every political worker and every political party in Balochistan.
Maulana Abdul Wasey said that the all-parties meeting is a manifestation of Balochistan’s political awareness and collective sense of responsibility, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will be part of every such serious and constitutional effort on this forum whose objective is sustainable peace, political stability, democratic supremacy, and the protection of the people’s legitimate rights in Balochistan.
Consultation is ongoing in the meeting to reach a consensus on what joint and agreed-upon strategy political parties will adopt in the future to effectively deal with Balochistan’s current situation and protect the province’s collective interests.
