Balochistan Police Crackdown: 785 Suspects Arrested, 16 Hostages Including 11-Year-Old Girl Recovered Safely
Heavy quantities of arms, ammunition, and drugs recovered; zero-tolerance policy for public protection will continue; complainants' issues at police stations to be resolved on priority basis: Police Spokesperson

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — According to a press release by the Balochistan Police spokesperson, on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, a special campaign is ongoing in Quetta and 9 ranges of the province to maintain zero tolerance against criminal elements and ensure the protection of law-abiding citizens.
According to the press release, during the special campaign against proclaimed offenders, absconders, and criminal elements across the province over the past three weeks, 44 proclaimed offenders, 249 absconders, and 492 suspects involved in various crimes were taken into custody, while 16 hostages, including an 11-year-old girl, were also recovered safely.
In various operations, heavy quantities of arms were recovered and 108 suspects were arrested, from whose possession 95 revolvers and pistols, 6 Kalashnikovs, 7 shotguns and rifles, 770 bullets and cartridges, and 48 magazines were also recovered.
In operations against drug dealers, Balochistan Police arrested 62 suspects and recovered from their possession 81 kg 468 grams of charas, 10 kg 67 grams of ice/methamphetamine, 525 grams of opium, 200 packets of gutka, 45 grams of crystal, 49 bottles of liquor including 6 liters of local liquor, and 1,279 large packets of illegal cigarettes.
In various operations, Balochistan Police also recovered 3 stolen vehicles, 44 motorcycles, and 13 mobile phones. According to the press release, 6 vehicles and motorcycles were taken into custody for violation of Section 550, while black tints were removed from 2,253 vehicles.
According to the spokesperson, operations against criminal elements will continue uninterrupted to provide a peaceful and secure environment for the protection of the public and to maintain the rule of law. To promote cooperation between the public and police, police personnel have also been instructed to adopt courteous and respectful behavior toward the public, while issues of complainants at the police station level should be resolved on a priority basis and public complaints addressed promptly and transparently.
