Civil Hospital Quetta Twin Birth Claim Proven False, Inquiry Report Released

QUETTA – The inquiry report into the alleged birth of twins at Sandeman Civil Hospital Quetta has been released, concluding that the woman gave birth to only one child and no evidence was found to support the claim of twins.

The report revealed that the mention of a twin pregnancy in the hospital’s ultrasound report was merely a human error. The Radiology Department had already issued a technical clarification on September 7 regarding the ultrasound report. Doctors’ statements and medical records fully confirmed the birth of a single child. The inquiry committee also verified that written consent was obtained from the woman’s husband for BTL (birth control procedure).

During the investigation, the committee found no evidence of any negligence or the birth of a second child.

Speaking on the matter, Medical Superintendent (MS) Civil Hospital Dr. Abdul Hadi Kakar stated that a completely impartial and transparent investigation was conducted. During the process, the woman’s husband and relatives were called in and shown all evidence, including CCTV footage.

He appealed to the media to verify facts before airing any case, as such baseless claims demoralize doctors who work diligently around the clock at the hospital.
