Petroleum Prices Revised: Petrol Down by Rs 12.90, Diesel Up by Rs 3.72

ISLAMABAD – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a revision in petroleum product prices, with petrol seeing a significant decrease while diesel prices have been increased.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 12.90 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has witnessed an increase of Rs 3.72 per litre.

New Prices

Following the revision, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs 358.77 per litre, while diesel will now cost Rs 381.77 per litre.

The new prices will take effect from midnight tonight (12:00 AM).

Background

The price adjustment comes amid fluctuations in global oil markets and changes in exchange rates. The government periodically revises petroleum product prices in line with international market trends to pass on the impact to consumers.

The reduction in petrol prices is expected to provide some relief to motorists and consumers, while the increase in diesel prices may affect transportation costs and subsequently impact the prices of goods.
