Balochistan Trains 600 Women Under Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme

QUETTA:The Balochistan government has taken another significant step toward promoting women’s economic empowerment and providing them with dignified employment opportunities by completing the training of **600 women** across the province under the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
Under the programme, implemented by the Balochistan Women Development Department, **100 trained women have already launched their own businesses**. Support cheques were also distributed among women who have started business activities.

Balochistan Chief Minister’s Adviser on Women Development, **Dr. Rababa Khan Buleedi**, distributed cheques worth **Rs200,000 each** to 100 women to help them establish their businesses. The total financial assistance amounted to **Rs20 million**.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rababa Khan Buleedi said the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme marked the beginning of a new era of economic empowerment for women in Balochistan and represented an important step toward implementing the vision of Chief Minister **Mir Sarfraz Bugti**.
She said 600 women had benefited from Balochistan’s first comprehensive women’s entrepreneurship programme, while financial assistance had been provided to 100 women entering the business sector so they could establish their enterprises and contribute to the economic stability of their families.

The adviser said the provincial government was not limiting its efforts to providing women with skills but was also providing them with the resources and opportunities needed to transform those skills into sustainable businesses.
She emphasized that women’s economic empowerment would not only strengthen families but also contribute to the growth of the province’s local economy.

Dr. Buleedi said the talented women of Balochistan deserved **economic stability, independence and development rather than poverty**, adding that empowering women economically was an investment in stronger families and a better future for coming generations.
She said the Balochistan government would further strengthen an integrated system of training, financial assistance and business opportunities for women. Economic empowerment programmes would also be expanded to enable more women to enter the business sector.
According to Dr. Buleedi, the Women Entrepreneurship Development Programme is a practical effort to transform women from **job seekers into empowered entrepreneurs and job creators**, with the potential to generate positive impacts on households and economic activity across the province.
