Friday Holiday Ends in Balochistan Government Offices

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has officially ended the weekly Friday holiday for government offices and departments across the province.
According to a notification issued by the provincial government, all government offices and departments will now remain open on Fridays and employees will be required to attend their duties as usual.
The relevant departments have also been directed to ensure staff attendance so that routine government affairs can continue without interruption.
The Balochistan government had decided in June this year to keep government offices closed on Fridays as an additional weekly holiday to conserve fuel. The move was aimed at reducing fuel consumption and cutting government expenditures.
However, the provincial government has now revised the policy and decided to reopen government offices on Fridays. Following the new notification, routine official activities will resume on Fridays across provincial departments.
The decision is significant for government employees as the end of the Friday holiday will change the regular weekly office schedule. Employees will be required to report to their respective offices according to the official schedule issued by their departments.
The government expects the move to restore normal weekly working hours in public institutions and provide citizens with access to various government services on Fridays.
The revised policy applies to provincial government offices and departments throughout Balochistan, with employees required to perform their duties according to the newly issued official schedule.
