Residents of Khadkocha, Mastung Being Forced from Homes and Farmlands at Official Level: National Party

QUETTA: National Party Balochistan Provincial President Chairman Aslam Baloch has alleged that residents of Khadkocha in Mastung are being forcibly displaced from their homes, standing crops, orchards and even schools through government measures.
In a statement, Aslam Baloch said Khadkocha is a lush and fertile valley with a population of around 50,000 people, who are currently facing an extremely difficult situation.
He said repeated clashes between security forces and armed groups had severely affected the social and economic lives of ordinary residents.
According to him, prolonged curfews had forced tube wells to remain closed, causing orchards developed through nearly three decades of hard work to dry up and standing crops to be destroyed. He added that schools had also been closed, further disrupting the lives of local families.
Aslam Baloch said ordinary people had become helpless and distressed amid confrontations between the opposing sides, while their situation was already extremely precarious.
He expressed concern that residents were now also receiving orders to vacate their homes, forcing sick people, women and children to leave under extremely difficult circumstances.
The National Party leader urged the government and state authorities to pay attention to the plight of the affected population and protect their rights.
He said the entire population could neither be declared terrorists nor facilitators and should not be treated in such a manner. He stressed that residents must be treated as citizens and their fundamental human rights must be protected.
