JUI-F Does Not Compromise on Public Interests; Imposing Unpopular Representatives Has Led to Balochistan’s Instability and Decline: Maulana Abdul Wase

QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Balochistan President Senator Maulana Abdul Wase and Provincial General Secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah have said that the party does not compromise on public interests and has consistently pursued principled politics based on the supremacy of Islam, protection of public rights, and respect for the Constitution and democracy.

In a statement, the JUI-F leaders said their party was the only major public representative political force in Balochistan whose politics was based on principles rather than short-term interests, struggles for power or personal privileges.

They said JUI-F’s long political struggle across Balochistan, its continuous engagement with the people and presence among citizens during difficult times demonstrated that the party had never compromised on its principles or public interests.

The leaders alleged that attempts had repeatedly been made to politically sideline JUI-F, weaken its public mandate and prevent genuine representatives of the people from reaching positions of authority. However, they said decision-makers in the corridors of power had still failed to recognize the reality on the ground.

They maintained that while public mandates could be manipulated through artificial means, the popularity of a political party and the trust people placed in it could not be eliminated.

According to the JUI-F leaders, replacing genuine public representatives with unpopular individuals disconnected from the people had produced consequences that were now evident across Balochistan.

They said such representatives were not only unaware of the basic problems, deprivation and difficulties faced by the people but also appeared to lack the political insight, effective strategies and practical capacity required to address them.

The leaders said Balochistan’s insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship, shortage of basic facilities, problems in education and healthcare, and the deterioration of agriculture and trade were not the result of a single incident or day.

They attributed the situation to prolonged flawed policies, weak governance and the continued disregard for the people’s mandate, holding responsible those who, they alleged, had been brought into positions of power without public confidence.

They claimed that JUI-F remained organized, active and popular across every district and tehsil of Balochistan and among different segments of society. They said the people had repeatedly recognized the party’s principled politics, sacrifices and steadfastness.

The JUI-F leaders said the solution to Balochistan’s current crisis lies in respecting the genuine public mandate, providing equal opportunities to political parties, ensuring the supremacy of the Constitution and law, conducting transparent democratic processes and bringing capable and competent leadership forward.

They pledged that JUI-F would continue its struggle at every level for public rights, provincial autonomy, peace, development and justice.
