Federal Government Approves Six-Month Army Deployment in Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD:The federal government has approved the deployment of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi for a period of six months.

According to an official notification, the deployment has been approved under Article 245 of the Constitution. Three companies of the Pakistan Army will remain deployed in Rawalpindi for six months.

The federal cabinet approved the deployment following a request from the Punjab Home Department.

According to the notification, the army will work alongside the district administration to maintain law and order in the city. Security arrangements at sensitive locations and key roads will also be strengthened.

The deployment is aimed at supporting the civil administration and ensuring effective security measures across Rawalpindi.
