Islamabad: Another Illegal Call Centre Busted, 275 Foreign Nationals Arrested

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) have arrested 275 foreign nationals during a joint raid on an illegal call centre allegedly involved in producing objectionable content.

According to the FIA, the suspects were arrested from Sector I-10/3, Islamabad. The foreign nationals belong to China and several other countries.

Officials said the call centre management was found allegedly involved in the production of immoral and objectionable content, for which foreign men and women had reportedly been recruited.

The FIA registered a separate case under the Foreigners Act, while the NCCIA also registered a case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

According to authorities, all the arrested foreign nationals had entered Pakistan on visit or business visas.

Officials said a decision had been taken to immediately deport 76 foreign nationals, while exit permits for the individuals were being prepared.

Further investigation into the illegal call centre and the activities of those arrested is underway.
