Pakistan Approves Amendments to National Electricity Plan to Ensure Affordable Power

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan has approved amendments to the National Electricity Plan aimed at ensuring the supply of electricity to consumers at affordable prices.
The amendments to the National Electricity Plan 2023-2027 were approved during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The meeting reviewed the National Electricity Plan as well as the financial situation of the country’s power sector.
The Power Division presented proposed amendments to the National Electricity Plan 2023-2027 during the meeting.
The committee also directed officials to hold further consultations with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The move is aimed at improving the power sector and developing a coordinated energy strategy to ensure electricity is delivered to consumers at reasonable and affordable rates.
