Supreme Court Orders Phone Facility for Imran Khan to Speak to Sons Twice a Week
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed authorities to facilitate PTI founder Imran Khan in speaking to his sons by telephone twice a week.
According to ARY News, the direction was issued in the court’s written order concerning Imran Khan’s transfer to hospital and medical treatment. The court instructed the government and relevant authorities to ensure that he is provided with the facility to speak to his sons twice a week.
Meanwhile, following the Supreme Court’s permission, Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Niazi met him at Adiala Jail. The meeting took place in the conference room at 5:10 p.m. and lasted for 14 minutes.
Noreen Niazi reportedly became emotional after seeing her brother after a long period. After the meeting, she confirmed to reporters that she had met Imran Khan. Qasim Khan, meanwhile, was stopped in the jail’s parking area.
The Supreme Court has also formally issued a written order directing that Imran Khan be shifted from jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad within two days.
Under the order, the government and relevant authorities have been directed to submit complete details of all cases, arrests, ongoing trials and convictions against Imran Khan.

The court further ordered the formation of a high-level medical board in consultation with the Shifa International Hospital administration. The board will include physicians, a general surgeon, an internal medicine specialist, an ophthalmologist and a cardiologist to conduct his medical examination and treatment.
Dr Faisal Sultan and Imran Khan’s sister, Dr Uzma Khan, have been permitted to remain involved in the medical examination and treatment process.
The court ruled that all expenses related to Imran Khan’s treatment and medical facilities at Shifa International Hospital will be borne by Imran Khan or his family.
The written order also states that, until the next hearing, no family member, PTI leader or lawyer will share Imran Khan’s health condition or medical reports with the media or the public.
In addition, the government and relevant authorities have been directed to ensure that Imran Khan is allowed to meet his family once a week and speak to his sons by telephone twice a week.
