Iran Says 100 Aircraft Destroyed in US-Israeli Attacks

Iranian Transport Minister Farzaneh Sadegh has claimed that 100 Iranian aircraft were destroyed in US and Israeli attacks, while efforts are underway to restore the country’s communications and transport infrastructure.

Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Sadegh said the attacks damaged not only airports but also electricity and water facilities.

She said that despite the destruction of 100 aircraft, Iran successfully continued Hajj flights with the help of eight aircraft. Transportation by rail, road and sea through ports also continued during the war, she added.

According to the Iranian minister, US attacks affected 100,000 commercial and residential units across 400 cities in 25 provinces of Iran.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei reiterated that the 60-day deadline agreed under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding was intended for negotiations on lifting sanctions and addressing the nuclear issue. However, he said talks never began because the United States violated the memorandum.
