Providing Quality and Affordable Healthcare Is Top Priority: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar

QUETTA: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Kakar has said that providing quality and affordable healthcare to the people of the province is the government’s top priority, with emergency measures being taken to address the lack of medical facilities in remote and underdeveloped areas.

Speaking to a delegation of journalists, the health minister said the provincial government was taking steps on an urgent basis to improve healthcare services in far-flung areas of Balochistan.

He said the provincial cabinet had recently taken important decisions to improve the health sector, including the establishment of a modern Prince Fahd Hospital in Dalbandin and approval of the Hospital Waste Management Rules 2025.

According to the minister, these measures would directly benefit the public and significantly improve the standard of treatment and healthcare services in hospitals.

Bakht Kakar said comprehensive planning was also underway to upgrade Basic Health Units in rural areas and address shortages of doctors and other medical staff.

He reaffirmed that the government was committed to ensuring equal access to healthcare for every citizen, regardless of whether they lived in an urban centre or a remote village.

The health minister said the provincial government was introducing modern medical equipment and technology alongside reforms in the public health sector so that patients in Balochistan could receive facilities comparable to those available in major cities.

He urged citizens to cooperate with the government and play their role in turning the vision of a healthier Balochistan into reality.
