Gas Supply Hours Cut Sharply in Quetta Following Damage to 18-Inch Pipeline

QUETTA: Gas supply to various parts of Quetta has been affected following reported sabotage of an 18-inch-diameter pipeline, prompting Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) to introduce a temporary gas supply schedule across the city.
According to a statement issued by SSGC Deputy General Manager Corporate Communications and government spokesperson Salman A. Siddiqui, gas supply in Quetta will temporarily be available during three daily time slots.
Under the revised schedule, gas will be supplied from 6:30am to 8:30am, 12:00pm to 3:00pm, and 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The spokesperson said gas supply would remain suspended during the intervening hours to help manage the system effectively and maintain the required pressure and operational stability.
He said the temporary arrangement had been introduced to provide maximum possible relief to consumers during the current situation, following disruption to the gas supply system caused by the incident involving the 18-inch pipeline.
SSGC is making all possible efforts to restore the normal gas supply schedule and provide maximum relief to consumers, the spokesperson said.
He assured consumers that the regular supply schedule would be restored as soon as the condition of the system allows.
The press release was issued from Karachi on August 17, 2026. For further information, consumers were advised to contact Deputy Chief Manager Media Relations Huda Qureshi.
