Women Constitute Half of Society, PML-N Providing Them Opportunities to Advance: Jamal Shah Kakar

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan General Secretary and Member of the National Assembly Jamal Shah Kakar has said that women constitute half of society and their role is essential in the country’s development, democratic stability and political process.

He said the PML-N was providing women with ample opportunities to advance in politics and play an effective role in decision-making.

He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony organized by the party’s women wing to welcome more than 200 women who joined the PML-N. PML-N Balochistan Women Wing President and Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani, General Secretary and MNA Akhtar Bibi, Nisar Achakzai, Shakir Muhammad Hasni and party workers were also present.

Jamal Shah Kakar said the large number of women joining the PML-N demonstrated growing public, particularly women’s, confidence in the party’s leadership, policies and manifesto.

He said women’s political participation was not merely about increasing membership numbers. The PML-N’s priorities included giving women an effective role in party organizational affairs, legislation, resolution of public issues and decision-making.

He said women had played an important role at every difficult stage in Pakistan’s history. From the struggle for independence to the present day, women had made significant contributions in education, healthcare, the economy, politics and social development.

He stressed the need to provide women with a conducive environment and equal opportunities to demonstrate their capabilities.

Kakar said the women of Balochistan were talented, hardworking and courageous, adding that greater participation of women in political, economic and social activities could open new avenues for the province’s development.

He appreciated the efforts of Raheela Hameed Durrani and MNA Akhtar Bibi in promoting women’s participation and said the PML-N Balochistan would further strengthen political training, organizational development and leadership opportunities for women.

Jamal Shah Kakar said effective legislation, access to education and healthcare, employment opportunities, skills development and economic empowerment were essential for resolving women’s problems on a priority basis.

“True development of society is not possible without empowering women,” he said.

He said the PML-N leadership believed in promoting democratic values and ensuring greater public participation in the political process. The large-scale participation of women in the party, he added, would serve as an important milestone in further strengthening the democratic process.

Welcoming the newly inducted women, Kakar urged them to play their full role in highlighting public issues, particularly those faced by women, and in seeking solutions to them. He assured them that the PML-N would effectively raise their voice at every relevant forum.

Other speakers at the ceremony also welcomed the women who joined the PML-N and expressed hope that their participation would further strengthen and activate the party’s organizational structure across Balochistan.
