“We Will Present Balochistan’s Burning Issues and the Case of Unrest at the Islamabad Sit-In” — Border and Highway Closures Have Snatched Livelihoods; Missing Youth and Mutilated Bodies Are the Most Serious Tragedy: Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch
"Instead of Limiting Public Issues to Statements, a Permanent and Workable Solution Must Be Found" — Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and Member of the Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has said that national political parties, the media, and civil society must raise their voices against Balochistan’s burning national issues, unrest, the closure of borders and highways, and corruption. We will also present Balochistan’s case forcefully at the Islamabad sit-in. The central caravan of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan’s long march will depart today at 10 a.m. from Hockey Ground, Zarghoon Road, Quetta, under his leadership. He expressed these views while speaking during meetings with various delegations in Quetta.
He said that Balochistan’s issues and the people’s difficulties need to be highlighted at the national level with sincerity and goodwill. The people of Balochistan are yearning for peace; funerals are being carried out from every home, young men are going missing, and mutilated bodies are being found — which is an extremely alarming situation. Ensuring the provision of peace, employment, education, health, and basic facilities to the people is the responsibility of the state and the government.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch said that the closure of borders and highways in Balochistan is severely affecting business, employment, and the lives of ordinary citizens. Instead of limiting public issues merely to statements, serious steps should be taken for their permanent and workable solution. Jamaat-e-Islami will highlight public issues across the country, including Balochistan, at the national level through the Islamabad sit-in.
He said that caravans from various districts of Balochistan have already departed to participate in the Islamabad sit-in, while today the central caravan of Quetta and nearby districts will depart under his leadership. Caravans from other districts will reach Islamabad via Karachi and Sukkur. He asked workers and office-bearers to reach Edhi Chowk, Railway Hockey Ground, Zarghoon Road, Quetta with their vehicles at the appointed time. The central caravan will depart on September 23 at 10 a.m., while a media talk and special address will be held at 11 a.m. Urging members and office-bearers to participate on time, he said that the media’s role is important in highlighting Balochistan’s public issues at the national level.
