Manisha Koirala Describes Cancer Diagnosis as a Terrifying Experience

MUMBAI: Indian actress Manisha Koirala has described her battle with cancer as an extremely frightening and lonely experience.
According to Indian media, Koirala was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2012. She underwent treatment in the United States, including surgery and chemotherapy.
Her final chemotherapy session took place in April 2013, after which doctors declared her cancer-free.
In a recent interview, the actress reflected on her experience with cancer and recalled the emotional challenges she faced during treatment.
Koirala said that she was in hospital when she learned that she had cancer, describing that night as one of the loneliest and longest nights of her life. She said she felt as though she was going to die.
The actress said she experienced loneliness on many occasions during her illness and came to understand how isolated a cancer patient can feel.
She described the period as an extremely frightening and difficult time that was hard for anyone who had not experienced it to fully understand.
Koirala also reflected on her busy career, saying she had worked extensively and neglected her health. She added that if she were given another opportunity in life, she would make her health a priority.
