“Mera Brand Pakistan” Can Become the Best Alternative to Foreign Products: Hafiz Naeem

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman inaugurated the “Mera Brand Pakistan” exhibition at the Expo Centre Lahore on Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and also hoisted the national flag.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol and a large number of business representatives.
Speaking at the event, Hafiz Naeem said the “Mera Brand Pakistan” initiative was launched on Independence Day last year with the aim of providing quality Pakistani alternatives to Israeli products being boycotted.
He said the initiative was also intended to convey a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people. “Mera Brand Pakistan” offers the best alternatives to foreign products, he said, adding that Pakistani products have the potential to establish a strong presence in international markets.
However, he stressed that the government would have to facilitate industrialists, increase exports and improve economic policies to achieve this goal.
Hafiz Naeem said barriers to trade and industry should be removed to promote Pakistani products worldwide. He added that the objective of “Mera Brand Pakistan” was to increase exports of Pakistani products to global markets.
He announced that a “Mera Brand Pakistan” exhibition would also be organized in Islamabad, followed by an event in Bangladesh.
Referring to Generation Z, Hafiz Naeem said the term should not be limited to young people being used for political purposes, but should also include students studying at universities. He said the initiative had provided alternatives to boycotted products while promoting quality Pakistani goods and strengthening domestic industry.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Fahim-ur-Rehman Saigol said Pakistan should pledge on its 79th Independence Day to strengthen the country economically. He called for collective efforts to ensure national stability.
Saigol said the Lahore Chamber would organize exhibitions of Pakistani products both inside the country and abroad to help increase exports and strengthen the economy.
He said the exhibition aimed to promote local businesses, adding that the private sector was playing an important role in economic development. If the government created greater ease for businesses, he said, the economy could grow rapidly.
Saigol emphasized the need to take Pakistani products to local and international markets and provide technical education to the country’s workforce. He said Pakistan should focus on exporting finished products to achieve sustainable economic growth.
