Major Hajj Facilitation for Pakistan-Origin Card Holders as Saudi Arabia Approves Inclusion in Pakistan’s Quota

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has allowed Pakistani-origin card (POC) holders to be included in Pakistan’s Hajj quota, enabling them to perform Hajj under Pakistan’s allocated quota for the first time.

According to sources, one percent of Pakistan’s total Hajj quota will be allocated to POC holders. Under the decision, around 1,792 Pakistani-origin card holders will be able to perform Hajj through Pakistan’s quota for the first time.

Facility Available Under Both Hajj Schemes

Sources said POC holders will be eligible to apply for Hajj through both the government and private Hajj schemes. The move will provide overseas people of Pakistani origin with an additional route to perform the pilgrimage.

The facility is particularly significant for individuals living abroad who have surrendered their Pakistani citizenship and passports but retain their connection with Pakistan through a Pakistani-origin card.

First-Time Inclusion in Pakistan’s Hajj Quota

According to sources, overseas individuals who have given up their Pakistani citizenship and passports have been permitted, for the first time, to perform Hajj through Pakistan’s quota.

The decision is expected to expand Hajj opportunities for Pakistani-origin people living abroad. Further details regarding the application process and procedures for including POC holders in the government and private Hajj schemes are expected to be announced by the relevant authorities.
