Gas Pipeline Explosion in Bolan Disrupts Supply to Several Areas: Sui Gas Company

QUETTA: A gas pipeline explosion near Gokart in Bolan has disrupted gas supplies to several areas, officials of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said.

According to Sui Gas officials, an 18-inch-diameter gas pipeline near Gokart in Bolan was destroyed by an explosive device. Following the blast, gas supplies were suspended to several areas, including different parts of Quetta, Kolpur, Mach, Mastung, Kalat, Pishin and Ziarat.

Flames were reportedly seen emerging from the damaged gas pipeline at the site of the incident.

Officials said the explosion occurred at the pipeline’s valve assembly, which is located around 800 metres from the national highway.

SSGC teams will proceed to the site to carry out repair work after receiving security clearance, officials said.

The company said restoration of gas supplies would begin after the damaged section is inspected and repair operations are completed
