NCCIA Busts Honey-Trap and Cyber Blackmailing Network in Multan
LAHORE: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Lahore has busted a honey-trap and cyber blackmailing network, arresting three suspects during a raid in Multan.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the special instructions of Punjab Director NCCIA Muhammad Ali Wasim.
The suspects allegedly used fake social media profiles to lure and blackmail citizens. During the arrests, investigators recovered three mobile phones and other important digital evidence from their possession.
The investigation further revealed that the suspects had allegedly extorted millions of rupees from one victim.
The NCCIA has launched further investigations to determine the full extent of the network and identify other individuals who may be involved.
