Empower Youth Through Modern Education, Technology and Skills: Corps Commander
PANJGUR: The Commander of the Quetta Corps has urged the youth of Balochistan to equip themselves with modern education, digital skills, technology and professional expertise to become empowered and contribute to the development of the region.
During a special visit to Panjgur, the Corps Commander inaugurated several development and educational facilities at the University of Makran, including the Jinnah IT Hub established under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), the Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Lounge constructed under the supervision of Frontier Corps Balochistan (South) and Parwaz Foundation, and the renovated Allama Iqbal Auditorium.
The Jinnah IT Hub has been established to provide young people with access to modern digital education, professional training and technology. The facility includes an IT hall equipped with 50 modern computers, a digital library, a freelancers’ hub, high-speed internet and facilities for e-commerce and freelancing.
A heavy-duty solar backup system has also been installed at the hub to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
The Corps Commander also inaugurated the Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Lounge and Allama Iqbal Auditorium at the University of Makran. The lounge provides separate and quality recreational and cafeteria facilities for male and female students, along with a mosque.
The 120-seat Allama Iqbal Auditorium has also been renovated and equipped with modern furniture and a sound system.
Speaking on the occasion, the Corps Commander stressed the importance of acquiring modern education and digital skills, saying that keeping pace with emerging technologies was essential to meet the demands of the changing world.
He said security was a collective responsibility and that security forces were committed to ensuring sustainable peace in the region, implementing development projects in accordance with public aspirations and improving public services.
During the visit, the Corps Commander also distributed laptops among high-performing male and female students of the University of Makran and the Vane Skills Development Centre Panjgur in recognition of their achievements.
