Electricity Tariff May Rise by Rs1 per Unit From Next Month

ISLAMABAD:Electricity prices across Pakistan may increase by around Rs1 per unit in the new quarterly adjustment period, as power distribution companies have submitted an application to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
According to sources, the current quarterly adjustment relief period is set to expire this month. Consumers are currently receiving relief of Rs1.99 per unit under the quarterly adjustment mechanism.
Following the expiry of the relief period, electricity tariffs across the country are expected to increase from next month under the new quarterly adjustment.
The final decision on the proposed adjustment will be taken by NEPRA after reviewing the application submitted by the distribution companies.:::
