PTI Has a Small Disruptive Group That Must Be Dealt With: Salman Akram Raja

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has said that a small disruptive group exists within the party and must be dealt with, stressing that the party as a whole remains united around its larger objective.

Speaking on an ARY News program, Raja said he would have no regret even if he left the party, adding that PTI founder Imran Khan had assigned him responsibilities despite his own reluctance.

Raja rejected claims that he had apologized to former adviser Mashal Yousafzai, saying the allegation was “completely false.” He claimed that Imran Khan had reprimanded Yousafzai and warned her against using inappropriate language.

He said some people did not want Sohail Afridi to become chief minister and alleged that an organized campaign against him and Afridi began from the day Afridi assumed the office.

Regarding allegations involving funds, Raja challenged former KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur to explain where Rs400 million had been given. “It is not within my knowledge where the money was given. He should himself clarify who received it,” he said.

Raja said parliamentarians must contribute to running the party and questioned whether union councillors should be approached for funds if lawmakers do not contribute.

He emphasized that the party’s primary focus should remain on the cases and health of Imran Khan. He said PTI wants to pursue its political movement but does not seek a violent campaign, instead demanding its rights through the Constitution and the law.

Raja also rejected allegations concerning the awarding of party tickets and contracts, calling them baseless. He said efforts had been made to keep internal differences within the party, but unnecessary allegations were made during the political movement.

He maintained that principled and committed people remain within PTI and urged the party to focus on its broader political objective rather than internal disputes.:::
