Maryam Nawaz Says She Wants to Serve People of Sindh and Other Provinces as Well
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed her desire to extend her public service beyond Punjab and serve people in Sindh and other provinces as well.
Meanwhile, banks have approved more than Rs220.68 billion in housing loans under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Programme, with approximately Rs34.27 billion already disbursed to applicants.
A meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb reviewed progress on the Prime Minister’s Access to Finance Plan 2026-2028.
The meeting discussed measures to make access to financing easier for housing, agriculture and small businesses. Officials considered digitizing land and property records, speeding up document verification and improving the housing finance system.
The meeting also reviewed measures to expand financing for agricultural loans, crop insurance and electric vehicles.
The government aims to improve access to formal financing by streamlining documentation and strengthening digital systems, particularly for individuals and businesses seeking housing, agricultural and small-business loans.
