Three Chinese Nationals Seek Bail in Illegal Human Organ Trade Case, Move Islamabad High Court
Islamabad: Three Chinese nationals arrested in connection with an alleged illegal human organ trade case have approached the Islamabad High Court seeking post-arrest bail.
The petitions were heard by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir after a trial court rejected the bail applications of the accused, identified as Li Gang Chai, Ping Fei Guo, and Wang Bao. The three are facing charges in a case registered by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle.
During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners, Barrister Yawar Gardazi, argued that similar petitions are already pending before another bench of the Islamabad High Court. He requested that the present case also be transferred to the same bench for consistent adjudication.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir observed that the requested bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan, is currently on summer vacation and that the matter could be delayed by about a month. However, upon the counsel’s insistence, the court accepted the request and directed that the case file be sent to the Chief Justice’s Office for a decision on transferring the matter to the relevant bench.
