Punjab Government Asked to Allocate Rs12.5 Billion for Local Government Elections

Lahore:The Punjab government has been asked to allocate **Rs12.5 billion** for the conduct of upcoming local government elections in the province.

According to sources in the **Punjab Assembly**, the provincial **Local Government Department** has formally requested the funds from the Punjab government to facilitate the election process.

Sources said the proposal for approving the required funds will be presented before the **Punjab Cabinet** for consideration.

The sources further revealed that an important meeting of the provincial cabinet has been convened for **today**, during which several key agenda items, including the funding request for local government elections, are expected to be discussed.
