Afghan United Front Announces Armed Campaign Against Taliban

Kabul:The **Afghan United Front**, an anti-Taliban resistance group, has announced the launch of armed operations against Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government.

In a video statement released on Sunday, the group’s chairman and former Afghan general **Sami Sadat** declared that authorization had been given to begin military operations against the Taliban.

Sadat said the first phase of the campaign has already begun, targeting Taliban fighters, bases, and leadership. Wearing an Afghan military uniform in the video, he pledged that the group would also fight **Al-Qaeda**, the **Islamic State (IS)**, the **Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)**, and other militant organizations.

The former general argued that nearly five years of Taliban rule had demonstrated that efforts to reach a political settlement through negotiations had failed.

He called on Afghans inside the country and abroad to unite and support the movement in an effort to free Afghanistan from what he described as Taliban oppression.

According to Sadat, the Afghan United Front aims to restore a constitutional Afghanistan based on the **2004 Constitution**, international humanitarian law, and the decisions of a **Loya Jirga**.

He also appealed to the **United States**, **NATO**, and the wider international community for political and material support. However, he stressed that the movement does not seek the return of foreign troops or military bases in Afghanistan.

**Note:** The claims regarding the launch and scope of the armed campaign are based on statements made by the Afghan United Front and its leadership. Independent verification of these claims was not immediately available.
