U.S. Defense Secretary Says America Capable of Massive Military Strike Against Iran

Washington:U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has said the United States has the capability to launch large-scale military strikes against Iran of a magnitude rarely seen since World War II.
According to foreign media reports, Hegseth made the remarks in a post on the social media platform X, expressing support for President Donald Trump’s position and stating that the U.S. military is fully prepared for any potential operation.
He said the Pentagon remains ready to respond to any emergency and that U.S. armed forces are being maintained at the highest level of combat readiness.
“The U.S. military is fully prepared and ready to act immediately if required,” Hegseth said.
His comments come at a time of escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, with both countries continuing to exchange strong statements.
Earlier, President Donald Trump also claimed that, if necessary, the United States could carry out military strikes against Iran on a scale not witnessed since World War II.
Defense analysts have warned that such rhetoric could further heighten tensions in the region, while the international community continues to call for restraint and a diplomatic resolution to the crisis.
Analysts also believe that the ongoing standoff between Washington and Tehran could have far-reaching consequences for Middle Eastern security, global energy markets, and international politics.
