Pakistan Stock Exchange Surges as Trump Announces Iran Talks

Karachi:The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong rally on the first trading day of August after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of negotiations with Iran, boosting investor confidence.
The benchmark **KSE-100 Index** opened the session on a positive note and was trading at **178,802 points**, up **2,708 points** during intraday trading.
Market analysts attributed the sharp rise to improved investor sentiment following signs of easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with hopes that renewed diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran could reduce regional uncertainty.
Meanwhile, Asian stock markets showed mixed performance. Japan’s **Nikkei** index fell **1.5%**, while South Korea’s **KOSPI** declined **5.25%**. In contrast, Hong Kong’s **Hang Seng** index posted a modest gain of **0.1%**.
Investors are expected to continue monitoring global geopolitical developments and economic indicators, which could influence market direction in the coming sessions.
