Mathira Says Men Face Injustice in Society, Calls for Greater Emotional Support

Karachi: Pakistani television host Mathira has said that men are often treated unfairly in society, arguing that unrealistic expectations have turned them into “machines” burdened with responsibilities while ignoring their emotional well-being.

Speaking during a recent interview, Mathira shared her views on various social issues, particularly the challenges faced by both men and women.

She said that men in Pakistani society are frequently judged without being given a fair hearing, adding that in certain situations, public opinion tends to form quickly without first establishing the facts.

Mathira also said that society places enormous responsibilities on men from an early age but rarely encourages them to express their emotions or seek emotional support.

According to her, many men become so consumed by the pressure of fulfilling their responsibilities that they struggle to be good fathers, brothers, or husbands, ultimately affecting their relationships and personal lives.

She further stated that many men suffer from depression and emotional stress, yet social expectations discourage them from openly discussing their feelings, even with close friends.

Mathira emphasized the need for society to recognize men’s emotional challenges and create an environment where they can speak openly about their mental health without fear of judgment.
