Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Rejects Mohsin Naqvi’s Proposal for New Administrative Units

Islamabad: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has rejected Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s proposal regarding the creation of new administrative units, saying the idea is outdated and will not be accepted by the people of Sindh.

Speaking to the media in Bhit Shah, Murad Ali Shah said he had heard Mohsin Naqvi’s statement but was unsure what exactly the minister was referring to.

He noted that the country’s largest province is governed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Balochistan has a coalition government, Sindh is governed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The chief minister said that if Mohsin Naqvi believes the current administrative system has failed, he is free to present proposals. However, he described the suggestion of creating new administrative units as an “old and worn-out idea,” adding that the people of Sindh, a land of Sufi traditions, would not accept it.

Murad Ali Shah also stressed that the country’s youth are its future and should never be viewed negatively. He said young people would lead Pakistan in the years ahead and are a valuable national asset.

His remarks came a day after Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan’s existing administrative system had become ineffective and argued that the establishment of new administrative units or provinces is essential for the country’s future development.
