Ziarat Tragedy – Mangy Dam Pumping Station Terror Attack: Inquiry Commission Directs IG FC Balochistan to Submit Detailed Response
QUETTA – The inquiry commission constituted to investigate the terrorist attack on the Mangy Dam Pumping Station in Ziarat district, led by Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana, held an open-court hearing today, September 9, 2026, and issued directives for a detailed response from the Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IG FC) Balochistan.
During the proceedings, a large number of local residents appeared before the commission as witnesses, assisted by a legal team comprising Shamsur Rehman Kakar, Abdul Masoor, Masood Ahmad Dootani, Sherdil Mengal, and Habibullah Khan Nasar.
Based on the police report submitted to the commission, Justice Rana directed the IG FC Balochistan to submit a comprehensive reply at the earliest. The Additional Attorney General requested additional time to prepare the response, which was taken into consideration.
Furthermore, the commission granted witnesses another opportunity to have their testimonies recorded on paper before the next hearing. The proceedings will continue in the coming days as the commission seeks to uncover the facts behind the deadly attack.
