No Assurance Given on Restoration of Levies Force During Ziarat Protest Talks, Says Balochistan Interior Minister

QUETTA: Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has clarified that no assurance was given regarding the restoration of the Levies Force during negotiations with the Ziarat sit-in committee.

Speaking on the issue, the minister said the talks did not include any commitment or guarantee to reinstate the Levies Force. He stressed that reports suggesting otherwise were incorrect.

Langove said that if opposition parties participating in the protest want the Levies Force to be restored, they should pursue the matter through the parliamentary process. He noted that the opposition is represented in both Parliament and the Balochistan Assembly and should lobby for the issue by introducing a bill through the appropriate legislative channels.

The interior minister said the provincial government is committed to resolving public issues but emphasized that all matters must be addressed within the framework of the Constitution and the law.

He urged opposition parties to play a constructive role through parliamentary forums rather than protests, saying that legislative engagement is the appropriate way to achieve lasting solutions to public concerns.
