YouTuber Rajab Butt Surrenders in Court After Non-Bailable Warrants Issued

Karachi: Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt appeared in the District Central Karachi Court along with his lawyers following the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants against him.
Butt, who had obtained protective bail from the Islamabad High Court, surrendered before the court after traveling from Islamabad to Karachi. The Additional District and Sessions Court (Central/City Court) granted him bail in a blasphemy case and directed him to submit a surety bond of PKR 100,000.
Rajab Butt had been absconding in a blasphemy case registered at Hyderi Police Station, but after securing protective bail, he voluntarily surrendered in the trial court.
According to his lawyer, Mian Ashfaq, Butt had applied for interim bail and there is no substantial evidence against him. The lawyer stated that the case falls under violations of CPRC Section 196, and no complaint has been received from provincial or federal authorities. He added that Butt will fully cooperate with the investigation.
It is noteworthy that in September this year, a case was registered against Rajab Butt for allegedly promoting illegal gambling apps, alongside allegations of insulting Islamic personalities, which is also under review in the Lahore High Court.
Earlier, the UK canceled Rajab Butt’s visa and deported him, after which he returned to Pakistan. The court had granted him 10 days of transit bail at that time.
