PkNAP Condemns Noshki Vehicle Arson, Calls It a Failure of Government and State Institutions

Quetta: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkNAP) has strongly condemned the burning of 10 vehicles by armed men in the Padag Kochki area of Noshki, describing the incident as clear evidence of the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan and a failure of the government and state institutions to protect citizens.

In a press release issued from the party’s provincial secretariat, PkNAP said the province, particularly the Pashtun-majority districts, has witnessed years of insecurity, terrorism, targeted killings, kidnappings, armed attacks on highways, extortion, robberies, and destruction of public and private property.

The party alleged that both the federal and provincial governments, along with the relevant institutions, have failed to maintain peace, enforce the law effectively, and ensure the safety of citizens. It said passengers, transporters, traders, and other travelers on national and inter-district highways continue to face serious security threats, affecting public confidence and economic activity.

According to the statement, the burning of 10 vehicles in Noshki has caused significant financial losses to transporters and could have long-term negative consequences for trade, investment, transportation, and business confidence in the province.

The party criticized what it described as the government’s reliance on condemnation statements and temporary measures, arguing that such responses are insufficient to guarantee public safety. It stressed that protecting the lives, property, dignity, and businesses of citizens is the state’s constitutional and legal responsibility.

PkNAP demanded an immediate, transparent, impartial, and effective investigation into the Noshki incident. It also called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible, including any alleged facilitators, in accordance with the law.

The party further urged the government to provide immediate and full compensation to the owners of the damaged vehicles and to implement permanent and reliable security arrangements on the Quetta–Noshki–Taftan Highway and other major highways to protect passengers, transporters, traders, and the general public.

The statement emphasized that lasting peace in Balochistan cannot be achieved through the use of force alone but requires the rule of law, constitutional governance, respect for human and democratic rights, impartial justice, effective state institutions, restoration of public trust, and people-centered policies.

PkNAP reaffirmed its commitment to continue its political and constitutional struggle for peace, the rule of law, protection of citizens’ lives and property, and the defense of constitutional and democratic rights across the province.
