Two Killed, Six Abducted by Unidentified Gunmen in Kech District of Balochistan

TURBAT: Two people, including a laborer, were killed and six others abducted after unidentified armed men intercepted a group of workers in the Kalatak area of Kech district, police said.

According to police, seven laborers were returning to Turbat after completing their work when they were stopped on the main highway by unidentified gunmen, who allegedly identified the workers before taking them away. The abducted individuals included four Punjabis and three Pashtuns.

Authorities said that the bullet-riddled body of one of the abducted laborers, identified as Javed, a resident of Swabi, was later recovered from the Surag area. Six other laborers—four from Punjab and two Pashtuns—remain missing.

During the incident, a local passerby, Abdul Razzaq, son of Dad Muhammad and a resident of Solband, was caught in the crossfire and fatally shot. Following legal formalities, his body was handed over to his family.

Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation in the area to locate the missing laborers and apprehend those responsible for the attack. However, no information has yet emerged regarding the whereabouts of the six abducted men.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, while security forces remain engaged in search efforts in the surrounding areas. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of filing this report.
