PkMAP Voices Concern Over Displacement in Ziarat’s Zezri Area, Calls for Immediate Action to Restore Peace
QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PkMAP) has expressed serious concern over the reported displacement of residents from the Zezri area of Ziarat district, urging the federal and provincial governments to take immediate measures to restore law and order and ensure the safety of local communities.
In a statement, the party alleged that the continued movement of armed groups and what it described as the weakening of the state’s writ had created an atmosphere of fear, forcing residents to leave their homes. These are the party’s claims.
PkMAP said the reported displacement of civilians reflects what it described as the failure of the relevant authorities to fulfill their constitutional responsibility of protecting the lives and property of citizens. According to the party, the prevailing insecurity has severely disrupted normal life in the affected area.
The party further criticized the federal and provincial governments, district administration, and security institutions, alleging that they had failed to take effective action despite the ongoing security situation.
Describing the issue as one affecting not only Zezri but the wider Ziarat district, PkMAP warned that if timely measures are not taken, the situation could have broader consequences for peace and stability in the province.
The party called on the authorities to restore law and order, ensure the safe return of displaced families, provide relief to those affected, and take action against armed groups. It also urged all political parties, civil society organizations, lawyers, traders, youth, tribal elders, and local stakeholders to work together for lasting peace.
PkMAP further demanded the immediate convening of an All Parties Conference (APC) or the formation of a joint action committee to develop a unified strategy aimed at restoring security and ensuring the protection of citizens in Ziarat district.
