Maryam Aurangzeb Says PML-N Can End AJK’s Deprivation, Urges Support for Party Candidates
RAWALPINDI:** Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has said that only the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) can address the long-standing deprivation of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the opposition became anxious when former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the region.
Addressing a PML-N election campaign gathering in Rawalpindi, Aurangzeb said the people of Muzaffarabad had already made their decision in favor of the party and urged workers to ensure the victory of PML-N candidates.
Taking aim at political opponents, she said, “Instead of complaining, build motorways like Nawaz Sharif and metro systems like Shehbaz Sharif.” She also rejected criticism that development had been limited to Lahore, saying roads had been constructed across cities throughout Punjab.
Aurangzeb highlighted the Punjab government’s development initiatives, stating that green buses are now operating on the streets of Muzaffarabad. She further claimed that within 18 months, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Apna Ghar Apni Chhat” housing initiative had benefited 200,000 people.
She also said the Punjab government had distributed laptops to 100,000 students and awarded merit-based scholarships to 50,000 students under the Honhaar Scholarship Programme.
Concluding her address, Aurangzeb claimed that people across Pakistan now wanted a chief minister like Maryam Nawaz.
