Lahore Court Rejects NCCIA’s Plea for Jail Trial of PTI Workers Sanam Javed and Falak Javed

Lahore: A sessions court in Lahore has rejected the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s (NCCIA) application seeking to conduct the trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers Sanam Javed and Falak Javed inside jail in a case related to alleged anti-state tweets.
Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui heard the NCCIA’s application and directed the agency to approach the Home Department if it intends to seek permission for jail trial proceedings.
The court also adjourned the hearing of the main case until September 10.
During the proceedings, Falak Javed was produced before the court to mark her attendance, while the NCCIA informed the court that it had already submitted the challan (charge sheet) in the case.
Sanam Javed and Falak Javed are facing legal proceedings over allegations of posting anti-state content on social media. The trial will continue in accordance with the court’s directions regarding the appropriate legal procedure for any request related to conducting proceedings inside prison premises.
