Balochistan CM Approves Phased Dissolution of Balochistan Development Authority

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan has approved the reorganization and phased dissolution of the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA), with a comprehensive strategy to be developed to safeguard the future and rights of its employees.

According to official documents, several proposals related to institutional reforms, asset transfers, and employee welfare were approved during a BDA committee meeting held on July 10, 2026.

Under the approved plan, the Balochistan Development Authority will be dissolved in three phases over the next 18 months. The proposal also includes transferring the institution’s profitable assets to separate corporate entities to ensure their effective management and utilization.

The documents state that a comprehensive framework will be formulated during the reform process to protect employees’ jobs and benefits, oversee the transfer of assets, restructure the institutional framework, and establish an interim administrative mechanism through the relevant government departments.

Officials said the initiative is aimed at improving institutional efficiency, ensuring the effective use of resources, enhancing the performance of development projects, and strengthening the administrative system. They emphasized that the rights, employment, and future of BDA employees will remain fully protected throughout the transition process.
