At Least Nine Killed in Multiple Incidents Across Balochistan; Blasts, Shootings, Accidents, and Fires Leave Over 10 Injured

Quetta: At least nine people were killed, more than 10 others injured, and six bodies were recovered in a series of separate incidents across Balochistan on July 21, 2026, involving shootings, explosions, road accidents, fires, robberies, and other criminal activities. Police and law enforcement agencies have launched investigations and search operations in connection with the incidents.

The deadliest attack occurred near Manguchar in Kalat district, where unidentified armed men opened fire on a vehicle traveling from Zhob to Karachi. Two women, including a patient, were killed, while two others, including a child, were injured. Security forces launched a search operation following the attack.

In Surab, a collision between two cars on the Quetta–Karachi National Highway claimed the lives of three people and injured four others. The victims were reported to be from Quetta, Nushki, and Pishin.

In Quetta, two people died after suffering severe burns when an oil bowser caught fire at a petrol station near Sariab Customs. Firefighters brought the blaze under control, preventing further damage to nearby buildings and vehicles.

In Zhob, a two-year-old child was killed after the roof of a house collapsed during heavy rainfall in the Tora Khola area. Several homes were also damaged, and the district administration initiated damage assessments and relief measures.

Authorities recovered six bodies from different districts. Three bodies were found in Kalat, including two with gunshot wounds and one showing signs of torture. Additional bodies were recovered from Winder, Panjgur, and Mastung, with investigations underway to determine their identities and the circumstances of their deaths.

In Mastung, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted an LPG bowser and trailers on the N-65 National Highway, killing one driver and injuring five others. The explosion destroyed an LPG bowser and two trailers.

In separate incidents in Mastung, unidentified attackers blew up a bridge on the N-25 National Highway, disrupting traffic on the Quetta–Karachi route, and destroyed a gas pipeline in the Spezand area of Dasht, interrupting gas supply. Security forces launched search operations in both locations.

Elsewhere, three Excise Department officials who had been abducted from Dalbandin were recovered safely in the Yakmach area, although the kidnappers escaped with two government vehicles and weapons. In another incident, armed men hijacked a Mazda truck loaded with food supplies in the Charsar area of Dalbandin.

Police also reported several robberies and thefts in Nasirabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Bhagh, and Sohbatpur, involving motorcycles, a tractor-trolley, cash, mobile phones, and other valuables. In one robbery, a man identified as Muhammad Murad Kalwar was shot and injured after resisting the attackers.

In Dera Murad Jamali, ongoing tribal clashes between the Sawand and Kehri tribes reportedly destroyed two agricultural tube wells and killed dozens of livestock, while several families began leaving the area due to continued gunfire.

Meanwhile, armed men reportedly entered Turbat Teaching Hospital, threatened doctors and medical staff, and fired shots into the air. The Young Doctors Association called for the immediate arrest of those responsible and demanded enhanced security at hospitals.

Separately, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Nazaryati condemned the reported killing of Hafiz Kabir Ahmed Echbari and his son in Kharan and called for the immediate arrest of those responsible.
