Major Pakistan–China trade breakthrough expected as billions of dollars in agreements likely

Pakistan – A significant trade development has emerged between Pakistan and China, with both sides expected to sign multi-billion-dollar agreements during an ongoing high-level business engagement.
According to details, a 52-member Chinese business delegation has arrived in Pakistan for a first-of-its-kind visit aimed at strengthening commercial ties under the framework of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The delegation will remain in Pakistan from May 8 to May 14.
During the visit, the Chinese delegation will hold business-to-business (B2B) meetings in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, focusing on key sectors including e-commerce, telecommunications, solar energy, and power.
According to the Pakistan-China Business Council, major agreements are expected in engineering, chemicals, textiles, and construction materials under digital economy cooperation programs. In Karachi, deals related to electric vehicles, medical equipment, and industrial machinery are also likely to be finalized.
Officials said that several government-to-government (G2G) agreements are also expected during meetings with local chambers of commerce in major cities. Both sides have further agreed in principle to establish a joint economic headquarters to enhance cooperation in trade, digital economy, and industrial development.
The visit is being seen as a major step forward in strengthening economic relations between the two long-standing strategic partners.
