18-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Mirpurkhas Home; Six Relatives Detained
MIRPURKHAS: An 18-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Karim Town, Mirpurkhas, prompting a police investigation. Six of her relatives, including her two brothers, have been taken into custody after allegedly resisting efforts to conduct a post-mortem examination.
According to police, officers recovered the woman’s body late at night after receiving information from local residents.
Authorities said the family initially refused to allow a post-mortem examination and allegedly obstructed police proceedings. As a result, police detained the victim’s two brothers and four maternal uncles, after which the post-mortem was carried out under police supervision.
Police officials said marks of violence were found on the woman’s body. They added that a criminal case will be registered against those found responsible once the post-mortem report is received.
A four-member investigation team, working under the supervision of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), has begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
